Internet has a new viral trend. People are sharing #sixwordhorrorstory like anything!

Started out from Twitter, today every other social network is painted with ‘sixwordhorrorstory’ hashtag. If you look closely every new trend, contest or challenge has its root from social media. The internet is the right place if you are looking to join a massive population to a particular moment all you need is the right ideation behind it.  

While the internet can be used to aflame a creative moment, not always is the trend very witty and productive. Rather it can be bizarre just like this one, with no explanation needed whatsoever.  

This challenge is spooky as hell. Remember the horror writer Stephen King’s tweets and stories, the same elemental spookiness is added in this new ho-hum of tweets and posts. So the challenge is to test a user’s creativity to write a six or ten-word horror story. Crazy right?

How and where it started from?

The trend started when legendary comic writer and animator Gail Simone tweeted and requested her followers to join in the horror short story writing challenges.

The Tweet said,

“Today’s challenge isn’t new, but I still think its fun. Write a horror story in six words,”

With an example attached, stating:

“Grampa says he hates his coffin,” Gail Simone shared here very own.

In a matter of no time, every other person on the internet was sharing their six word horror story. Soon the madness of retweets and mentions started and the fire spread to Facebook and Instagram.

With the same what came up was incredible social media postings that we outright hilarious and aptly fitted to the genius of their products and services.   Let’s take a look at the same:
